Who we are

Uintah Wrestling is a storied wrestling program located in Vernal, UT. We have won countless individual and team state titles as well as sent many athletes on to have successful collegiate and international careers. Each program within Uintah Wrestling works hand in hand with the next and focuses on teaching fundamentals and preparing athletes for the next phase.

Why be a part of Uintah Wrestling?

  1. Physical Fitness: It helps kids develop strength, endurance, flexibility, and overall fitness.

  2. Discipline and Self-Control: Wrestling requires focus, self-discipline and respect for rules and opponents.

  3. Teaches Sportsmanship and Respect: Kids learn to respect referees, coaches, and opponents. We do not tolerate poor sportsmanship.

  4. Promotes Goal Setting: Wrestlers set and work toward personal and team goals.

  5. Encourages Hard Work: The sport instills perseverance and hard work as a means to improvement. The saying goes, “Once you’ve wrestled, everything else in life is easy."

  6. Fosters Friendships and Teamwork: Despite being an individual sport, wrestling encourages camaraderie and support among teammates. We work as a team to bring home team state titles.

  7. Good for Mental Toughness: Kids learn to handle defeat, setbacks, and challenges constructively. We do not have a “win now” philosophy. If kids can learn from losses, continue to work and trust the process, success will come!

  8. Life Skills: Wrestling teaches valuable life skills like dedication, time management and responsibility.

AFFORDABLE. ACCOUNTABLE. COMMITTED TO SUCCESS.

  • Club wrestling is PreK-4th Grade. 4th Graders have the option of wrestling down at the club or up at the Jr. High. We do encourage 4th graders to wrestle on the Jr. High team; it’s more affordable since it’s a school sponsored team, it’s more practices, more intense/advanced and they can compete at the state tournament.

  • Jr. High is for 4th-9th graders. 9th graders have the option of wrestling at the high school or for the Jr. High.

  • First day of practice is September 29th for Jr. High and October 6th for the club and season ends mid February.

  • Sign up sheets can be filled out online or grab a paper sheet from a coach at practice.

  • Jr. High kids will pay online through myschoolfees.com or in person to UINTAH HIGH SCHOOL. All Jr. High finances go through the high school and must be paid under “YOUTH BOYS WRESTLING” (whether your athlete is a boy or girl.

  • Club can be paid here on the “Services” tab or by cash, credit card, Apple Pay or Venmo.

  • Practice days/times are listed on the calendar. Jr. High goes every day after school and club practices 3 days a week. We practice at Uintah Middle School in the blue outbuilding “D”.

  • Registration includes a t-shirt and shorts. Singlets and warm ups can be checked out to Jr. High wrestlers. Headgear and mouth guards may be required at National tournaments but are not necessary at most tournaments (we do have some available to check out). Wrestling shoes are required for competitions. We will have a team store for anyone wanting to purchase additional gear.
